Wonersh is a beautiful village of around 1000 residents nestled in the Surrey Hills,
an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Wonersh Connections is the ‘shop window’ for all village facilities, sports clubs, leisure and interest groups and events to enable you to get more out of and put more into our Wonersh Community.

Wonersh Store
& Post Office
Family run and fully licenced village store, newsagent and Post Office. Dry Cleaning, shoe repairs and other collection services.

The Grantley Arms
An active part of Wonersh Village for nearly 500 years, providing excellent food and drink and a place to meet friends or just relax.

Wonersh Pharmacy
Situated next door to Wonersh Surgery, selling a range of health and personal products and prescription fulfillment.

A four partner practice serving residents in Wonersh, Blackheath, Bramley, Chilworth, Shalford and Shamley Green.

Wonersh Church
St John the Baptist
A lively and welcoming Anglican church at the heart of the village community.

Church Green
In front of Wonersh church is a walled green that is owned and maintaned by an independent trust as a quiet, open space for adults in Wonersh.

Wonersh & Shamley Green School
A Church of England Voluntary Aided mixed Junior School for pupils aged 4yrs-11yrs.

Lawnsmead Hall
Situated on the edge of Wonersh Common and home to many local clubs. Available to hire.

Wonersh Memorial Hall
Also known as 'Wonersh Village Hall', available to hire for groups or functions and home to a range of weekly classes and activities.

A four partner practice serving residents in Wonersh, Blackheath, Bramley, Chilworth, Shalford and Shamley Green.

Wonersh Common Playground
Situated on Wonersh Common, our playground has a range of play equipment for children and table tennis tables for all.

United Reformed Church
Situated on Wonersh Common offering Sunday service at 11am and online services everyday via facebook.

Thornbury Music School
Thornbury Music is a long established local music school run by Lucy Joyce. We have a talented team of 12 music teachers offering individual instrumental lessons.

Wonersh Village Club
A members only licenced village club situated opposite The Common.

Wonersh Village Foundation
The Foundation is a grant-making charity, funded by rental income from the Village Shop, attached Gallery and Shop Flat.

Wonersh Park Association
Representing and run by residents of Wonersh Park, a group of residential
roads situated off Cranleigh Road.

Wonersh Parish Council
Representing Blackheath, Shamley Green and Wonersh. Council and committee meetings are open to the public.
Sports Clubs and Classes
Wonersh is blessed with a common which plays host to our Cricket and Stoolball teams as well as providing space for jogging, walking and other outdoor activities. Our two village halls also host a range of sports and fitness classes to suit all ages and abilities.

Wonersh Bowling Club
Friendly and active Bowling Club for all ages. New members, both players and social, always welcome.

Wonersh Cricket Club
For over 150yrs Cricket has been played in Wonersh and Wonersh Cricket team plays league and friendly matches. New players are always welcome and The Pavilion is also availble for hire.

Wonersh Stoolball Club
Dating back to at least 15th C, Stoolball is a team sport not unlike cricket or rounders. Wonersh Stoolball is played on The Common and welcomes new members.

U3A Fun & Wellbeing

Leisure & Interest Groups
From Amateur Dramatics to Local History, whether you already have a passion or would like to try something new, Wonersh is home to a range of leisure and interest groups who are always happy to welcome new members.

Wonersh History Society
Our local history society researches not just the facts but also aims to seek out the stories,to preserve them and to make them available to the village. Talks are open to all and new members are always welcome.

Wonersh Players
Writing , producing and performing their own pantomimes and murder mysteries, Wonersh players are an easy going, like-minded group of friends who enjoy putting on a show, and love entertaining audiences. New members always welcome

Wonersh & District Garden Club
The Garden Club meets monthly in Wonersh for a variety of talks, shows, quizzes, garden visits and more. New members from Wonersh and the surrounding villages are always welcome.

Wonersh Annual Village Fair
Our fantastic Village Fair takes place in the Summer, bringing residents and nearby villagers together on Wonersh Common. If you would like to help in the organistion or run a stall, please get in touch.

Allotment Holders
Wonersh has a number of allotments situated behind Wonersh memorial hall. If you would like to join the waiting list, please contact the Clerk at Wonersh Parish Council

Wonersh Age Concern & Lunch Club
Wonersh Age Concern runs a weekly Lunch Club with a home cooked three course lunch in Lawnsmead Hall for older village residents. We offer friendship, advice and other social activities.

WonCares is run by volunteers for all residents of Wonersh who need help for medical and other appointments, shopping, companionship, family visits or many other tasks.

Gerald's Wood
On the corner of Chinthurst Lane and The Street is Gerald’s Wood, a wood managed by volunteers who would welcome any offer of help to maintain this beautiful local woodland.
Children & Youth Groups
Wonersh is a very family friendly village, The Common is ideal for ball games and picnicing whilst the playground is suitable for younger children but also has two table tennis tables for everyone to enjoy. We are also lucky to have our own Scout and Guiding groups and a weekly Youth group.
For our very youngest residents, Chatterbox is a friendly parent or carer, baby and toddlers group.

Babies & Toddlers Group
Chatterbox is a parents, babies and toddlers group that meets weekly on Thursdays during term time at Lawnsmead Hall.

Wonersh Pre-shool
Located in the centre of the village, we are a community led pre-school run by a committee of parents and staffed by trained and experienced play leaders and assistants.

Castle Nursery & Preschool
Opened in 2002 Castle Nursery is a 39 place rural day nursery situated in the grounds of Wonersh & Shamley Green Primary School.

1st Wonersh Scouts
Open to all genders, scouting offers fun and leadership opportunities for young people 4-25yrs and adults alike.

Girlguiding
Rainbows, Brownies and Guides is for girls aged 5 and up to have fun, make new friends, learn skills for life and take on new challenges.
